We have the heritage of a core L&A insurance company, Security Benefit, and with capital investments from Eldridge Industries, we have evolved to one of industry’s leading digital Life & Annuity platforms. Our vision is to further transform into a leading cloud based product provider & service provider. We are investing in new capabilities and are starting to make acquisitions to further build out our ecosystem.

Role Overview:

SE2 is looking for a General Counsel who can be part of the leadership team and work with us to execute our transformation vision. The GC will be responsible for advising senior management with respect to the legal implications of all major decisions, strategies and transactions of SE2.

Responsibilities:

• Serves as a key adviser to the CEO on issues of SE2 governance, risk management, SE2 growth, policy implementation, internal and external communications relating to sensitive matters, strategic planning and execution, and acquisitions/M&A.
• Lead all aspects of commercial contracts and technology transactions; privacy and data security matters; labor and employment and litigation matters; as well as legal operations; intellectual property; real estate; mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic partnerships and investments and other global frameworks applicable to SE2
• Provide legal & strategic advice in thinking about new product development and market expansion
• Support the corporate secretarial function, including preparation of notices, agendas and materials for board of directors and committee meetings
• Lead and manage all outside legal counsel engaged to represent SE2
