Columbia Basin College ("CBC" or the "College") seeks a Director for Facilities Services who will provide administrative direction and oversight for facilities, maintenance, central services, grounds and custodial operations. This position actively supports and engages in CBC's values for student learning, culture of excellence, diversity, equity and inclusion, sustainability and wellbeing. The incumbent collaborates with a diverse array of stakeholders on issues related to the area of oversight. This position reports to the Vice President for Administrative Services. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide oversight for daily operations between the facilities, maintenance, grounds, central services and custodial staff with supervision of supervisors and Assistant Directors from those areas; meet often with supervisors to plan work by priority, organizing and distributing work orders;
- Receive and resolve Facilities concerns and requests from faculty, staff and administration;
- Maintain a safe campus by providing facility services safety training, work with the campus safety committee, direct a computerized preventative maintenance program, and plan and assist in ADA campus upgrades and needs;
- Collaborate with the Environmental Safety & Health HR Consultant, who serves as the College's hazardous waste coordinator and on workplace safety and compliance requirements;
- Represent the Facilities department’s interests and needs in regards to capital projects planning and implementation;
- Plan, implement and coordinate tracking and control programs in such areas as materials inventory control, project cost assignment, energy conservation management, programs designed for handling special projects and repairs, minor capital outlay projects, deferred maintenance and planned programmed maintenance systems;
- Assist in the planning and implementation of construction projects and provide consistent follow-up until the project is complete;
- Provide input for strategic planning efforts for operational and campus growth;
- Collaborate with the Director for Capital projects in the development of campus standards for construction, repair and modification projects for selection and awarding of contracts;
- Work with outside agencies such as the State Board for Community and Technical College for Office for Civil Rights review and other colleges by serving on the Operations and Facilities Council to accomplish college goals;
- Maintain working relationships with outside contractors to coordinate and support access to buildings and equipment;
- Prepare required departmental reports, lead department operating budget development and administer department budget allocations; review, authorize and monitor expenditures;
- Interview or assist in the interview and selection of full-time employees, student workers and part-time workers; and
- Other duties or projects as assigned.
