Job Title: Tax Manager

Reports to: Tax Partners

Job Summary: Tax Managers work and communicate effectively with tax staff and clients to enhance their understanding of the client’s business and tax issues. They demonstrate an awareness of current business developments and the ability to determine the impact to a client’s business.

Hours Required: 40 hours per week; hours not to exceed 55 per week during busy season

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Know and understand the firm’s policies and procedures
• Possess a working knowledge of firm technology and time and billing software
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the client’s business that extends beyond tax-related aspects
• Recognize problems, assess alternatives and recommend solutions
• Effectively and appropriately delegate assignments to promote an environment of mentoring and team work
• Participate in and document the formal review/evaluation process with staff in a timely manner
• Instruct and facilitate internal training
• Work closely with clients to expectations and ensure that deadlines are met
• Manage client accounts including billing, fee analysis and collections
• Review all work before submission to Tax Partner
• Work with other managers to ensure proper deployment of the tax staff
• Manage, develop and train, and mentor tax staff on projects and assess performance
