- Provide field services to support the installation, start-up, maintenance and production operation of automation control systems, drive systems, manufacturing systems, industrial networks and the individual products that comprise these systems. Field services provided may include:
- Implementation of hardware/firmware updates and upgrades;
- Instruction/training of customers on proper use, operation and maintenance;
- Labor warranty concession administration;
- On-call emergency service support and remote diagnosis and troubleshooting assistance (7X24);
- Development, implementation and execution of predictive and preventive maintenance programs and RA Service Agreements;
- May include an assignment as a resident service engineer/representative embedded on-site at a customer's facility;
- Provide field services as directed by local Services management. This will include working overtime hours or providing services during the 2nd or 3rd shift. Travel to work sites remote from the service engineer/representative's field office city location will also be required. Work assignments at remote city locations may be for extended periods of time.
- Perform all activities in compliance with Federal, State and local government regulations and requirements.
- Observe safe work practices at all times and utilize personal protective equipment as required in accordance with Rockwell Automation and customer site safety policies.
- Be responsible for assigned tools and instrumentation, maintaining them in good operating condition and calibration.
- Report product anomalies found and provide recommendations for product improvements and enhancements.
- Provide technical assistance for sales presentations to customers. This may include product demonstrations at Rockwell Automation sales offices, at customer's facilities or at trade shows.
- Provide expert level service support to resolve complex problems relating to products, technologies and industry processes.
- Provide expert level consultation with respect to the application of products and technologies, and with respect to manufacturing processes and industry-specific applications.
- Develop comprehensive project plans including development of the project timeline, definition of tasks and dependencies, human resource planning and allocation, and equipment and materials scheduling.
- Provide project and site management including management of the project to schedule and budget, management of human resources deployed on the project, management of equipment and materials, and management and coordination of sub-contractors.
