Requisition Number: S_200565 Department: Vet Diagnostic Center-7278 Description of Work: Contribute to the mission of the SARS-CoV-2 project by planning, directing, and assigning testing on specimens submitted to the Nebraska Veterinary Diagnostic Center, while working primarily independently. Supervise managers, technologists, and technicians in a high volume molecular diagnostic laboratory. Work with CLIA laboratory director and other stakeholders to comply with all testing requirements. Analyze and interpret test results. Relay test analyses and status reports. Serve as the CLIA Technical Supervisor. Complete proficiency tests required by CLIA to a satisfactory manner. Maintain compliance with NVDC QA/QC practices and accreditation. This is a 24 hour, seven days a week lab. Shifts vary by applicant availability and may be discussed during the interview process. Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a related science plus four years laboratory experience required. Precision, accuracy, attention to detail, and technical knowledge and ability necessary. Experience with advanced lab procedures, data collection and analysis. Knowledge of quality control procedures. Prioritization, organizational, communication and facilitation skills required. Record keeping and computer skills necessary. Experience with project management and knowledge of compliance and safety regulations necessary. Demonstrated ability to teach/train others. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Microbiology, biomedical sciences, medical technology or related/equivalent field.
