Associate Veterinarian

Southwest Texas Veterinary Medical Center in Uvalde, TX is searching for an experienced DVM to join our team. If you love being a part of a rural community, enjoy helping people, want to make a difference in your community and are passionate about your commitment to self-improvement, SWTVMC could be the right fit for you.  We are a three-doctor mixed animal practice looking for another animal lover with excellent communication skills to add to our doctor team.   As a practice, we support and encourage participation in organized veterinary medicine, CE and community events.  Our veterinarians collaborate daily to ensure the highest quality care for each patient.

We are well equipped with both equine DR and small animal DR digital radiography, ultrasound, equine power float, a high speed dental unit with digital dental radiography, a large array of in house diagnostic equipment including tonometry, an endoscope, and surgical capabilities that include small animal orthopedics and bone plating.  Staff development is a part of our clinic culture and we currently have a 1:3 dvm to paraprofessional ratio.

Our hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8am until 5:30pm.  Clients are seen by appointment and as walk-ins/emergencies.  The position would include being on call at least one night per week until 9pm and one weekend a month until 9pm each evening allowing ample time off to enjoy the beautiful south Texas!  Doctors rotate through SA medicine, SA surgery and LA duty to ensure that each doctor has ample opportunity to see a large variety of cases and species.  Large animal clients haul in to the clinic as well as call us for ambulatory services.
