CBRE is seeking a part-time person to work with the New York Institutional Group that handles investment sales in suburban New York (including New Jersey, Westchester County, Fairfield County and Long Island). The position is located in the Stamford, Connecticut office. The New York Institutional Group is a 12w-member investment sales team that represents institutional owners in the sale of office, multifamily, industrial, and retail properties in the New York Tri-State region.
The team was CBRE's #1 investment team worldwide in 2003, 2004 and 2007 and #2 in 2005, 2006, 2008 to 2012, and 2016. The team has sold or recapitalized more than 54.8 million square feet of office, 14.4 million square feet of industrial, 15.7 million square feet of retail and 31,000 multi-family units valued at over $25 billion since 2000.
The position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities that are all centered on the pursuit, marketing and sale of office, retail, multi-family, industrial, and mixed-use properties. The job requires an individual who is self-motivated and internally driven to perform at a high level in a collaborative team environment. The individual will work under the direct supervision of Jeff Dunne, Vice Chairman and various members of the team.
This role is intended to provide a well-rounded knowledge of the commercial real estate business and valuable skills, earned by working alongside talented professionals in the largest and most successful global commercial real estate services firm.
Position responsibilities and attributes include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
Preparing property analysis of real estate assets
Analyze market conditions including sale and rent comparables, employment trends and demographic profiles
Understand physical attributes of asset that impact the appeal of the property to tenants and investors
Client presentations and customer (market) facing offering materials
Preparing presentations for client meetings
Assist in creating Offering Memorandum that markets investment opportunities to potential investors
Supplemental marketing information including press releases, client meeting presentations and marketing mailers
Market Research
Details on comparable property sales and rental rates
Understanding major employment drivers in any given metro region
Entertainment and lifestyle attractions of property locations
Conduct asset research - owners, properties, development history
Maintain construction pipeline details using available software applications

Requirements
Rising College Juniors strongly preferred
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Keen analytical acumen with familiarity and/or ability to learn financial terms and principles necessary in real estate underwriting, including discounted cash flow, NPV, IRR, etc.
Highly organized, proactive, self-disciplined worker
Thorough and diligent fact-finder, copywriter and proofreader
Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects at the same time
Computer Skills
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
