Reporting to the Director, IT Auditing, and working closely with the Director, Financial and Operational Auditing the Sr. Auditor II-Data Analytics Specialist will play a key role in solution generation and project execution within Columbia University's Continuous Monitoring Program utilizing ACL's Auditing Control Language and SQL to access data across multiple platforms within the organization.
Contribute to and help drive the expansion of the University's Continuous Monitoring Program that transforms the way governance, risk, compliance, and internal control groups quantify and report.
Identify and build key data that will be utilized by our Continuous Monitoring Program.
Develop, test, and implement SQL data queries and analysis of the data using ACL server and desktop solutions.
Automate the ACL scripts to run on a fixed schedule and send the exceptions to business owners for analysis.
Work closely with auditors and IT groups to ensure ACL data-driven continuous monitoring solutions deliver maximum value across the organization.
Achieve milestones and deliverables that meet acceptance criteria and delivery schedules.
Undertake self-directed learning to understand processes and systems.

Bachelor's degree (preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or Management Information Systems) and a minimum of five years related experience required.
Advanced degree desirable
CIA, CISA or other relevant accreditation preferred; if no certification is held currently, must obtain certification within 18 months of assuming role
PeopleSoft or Oracle database experience a plus
Minimum of 2 years' experience developing database queries or code development required as is demonstrated ability to write SQL queries.
Proficiency in data analysis software such as Audit Command Language (ACL) or similar data analysis tools necessary.
Ability to effectively engage personnel in solution discussions to resolve issues regarding audit, compliance, internal controls and/or risk management requirements and goals required.
Demonstrated effective project management including personal time management and ability to multi-task required.
Ability to undertake self-directed learning to understand the processes and systems required.
Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access necessary.
Must be able to demonstrate excellent analytical, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including active listening skills, and be able to negotiate issues and resolve problems.
In addition, the successful candidate must be able to work well with all levels of employees, be flexible in nature, have a sound judgment with an open and collaborative style that encourages teamwork and cooperation beyond the immediate team to the broader organization.
