– Wells Fargo Securities (WFS) consists of nearly 5,000 team members in 50+ offices across North America, Europe, and Asia, focused on middle-market and large corporations and global institutional investors. WFS delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets and advisory solutions, including a full complement of sales, trading and research capabilities, to corporate, government and institutional clients. About the Role
– This position is responsible to build and lead a team within Wells Fargo India & Philippines which would support various front office related activities performed in the Banking & Markets group. The position reports jointly to the Head of CB & CIB in WFIP India and CIB COO Organization in the US. Incumbent is expected to manage highly matrixed organization and partner with business leaders across the enterprise.
Build and lead a diverse, highly skilled team supporting various front office support activities of investment banking and capital markets domain.
Manage key corporate and investment banking functions including deal support, research, analytics, quants / modelling to support trading desks across asset classes, credit analysis and portfolio monitoring.
Develop perspective based on front-to-back process flow and provide holistic solutions which can be easily integrated, reduces complexity and is in alignment with division risk framework.
Engage with relationship manager to identify opportunities across business group and enhance overall participation.
Must have experience working with senior leaders across other functions such as technology, finance, strategy to drive results.
Engage with business partners at a strategic level, including conceptualizing, agreeing and driving initiatives which add value to the business.
Focus on driving continuous improvement and innovation. Must be able to drive and demonstrate true results impacting business outcomes.
Build resiliency across process to ensure continuous operations and also manage operational risk by proactively identifying them and building robust internal controls.
Enhance overall performance of the team by leveraging operational performance metrics, historical results to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
Effectively manage talent using the talent planning tools and coaching team members to operate at higher level of dimensionality.
Drive engagement culture and enable talent retention. Effectively use Rewards and Recognition to motivate staff and encourage performance.
Market Skills and Certifications
Required to have an higher level degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
18 to 20 years of experience with strong subject matter expertise in investment banking front office operations for global markets, merger & acquisition / deal management, credit and portfolio management or other investment banking related products.
Strong product knowledge; thorough understanding of any of the investment banking domains / products
Good understanding of how investment platforms, systems, operations, data flows and overall process works cohesively as it relates to investment lifecycle and asset management.
5 to 7 years in a GIC / GCC environment with experience in building up this capability and running large teams.
Experience in setting up high performing quantitative teams which work closely with bankers, traders and portfolio managers to providing solutions and perspectives on complex financial instruments.
Strong track record of transformation, including experience in driving global projects which leads to change across business segments.
Strong executive presence with ability to engage / build relationship with senior leaders and influence outcomes.
Adept at embracing changes and converting them into opportunities for the group.
Strong organizational and project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage expectations and deliver on commitments.
Preferred location is Bangalore
Other Qualifications –
Good to have financial professional certification such as CFA, FRM, CA.
Leadership experience in offshore in-house center of international banks will be advantageous
Demonstrates a high degree of reliability, integrity, and trustworthiness
A seasoned, relationship-driven executive who will have the style and sensitivity to work within a highly complex business environment. Multi-cultural sensitivity a must.
