As a Program Manager of Infection Prevention and Associate Safety you need to know how to:
Develop and coordinate a comprehensive and proactive Infection Prevention and Control Program Plan and Risk Assessment, using application of epidemiological principles and surveillance.
Act as a resource to providers and staff regarding the reduction and management of risks of disease transmission.
Advise and consult with providers, nurses and other healthcare personal concerning precautions to be taken to protect patients, staff, and visitors from possible contamination or infection.
Conduct infection surveillance/monitoring through interaction with patient care areas and staff members.
Analyze data and trends from surveillance/monitoring and collaborates with and assists department leaders with performance improvement activities.
Routinely conduct Infection Control/Isolation rounds, assessing appropriateness of isolation precautions, patient placement and other matters of concern throughout the organization.
Actively participates in and monitors infection control recommendations related to construction and renovation projects including Infection Control Risk Assessments and compliance with regulations.
Acts as the liaison between Holy Rosary Healthcare and the County/State Health Departments regarding Infection Prevention and Control issues.
Collects, coordinates and submits data for public reporting.
Develops and reviews policies and procedures related to Infection Prevention

Associateâ™s degree from accredited nursing school or Bachelorâ™s degree in Medical Laboratory Science
Must hold a current unencumbered MT state license as a registered nurse or Medical Laboratory Scientist
Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association
Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience.
If RN, Bachelorâ™s degree in nursing or successful completion of accredited program within 5 years of hire into position.
Current Infection Prevention and Control Certification or successful completion of certification within 5 years of hire into position.
Current certification in safety, hazard management or industrial hygiene or successful completion of certification in safety related fields within 2 years of hire.
Previous experience in healthcare safety and occupational safety and health.
