Chief Technology Officer will provide strategic direction and strong leadership to the departments within the Healthcare Infrastructure Services and will be responsible for the function that delivers and supports all the technical infrastructure on which Stony Brook runs its business. Stony Brook Medicine supports a Clinically Integrated Network that encompasses: Stony Brook University Hospital, Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital, Stony Brook Community Network, Stony Brook Clinical Practice Management Plan, Stony Brook Meeting House Lane and will continue to grow over the next decade. The role of Chief Technology Officer will be strategically accountable for identifying and leveraging infrastructure technology solutions to enable the business to meet its goals across the healthcare enterprise, at an acceptable cost, and to deliver new systems at the right pace.
The Chief Technology Officer plays a significant role within Stony Brook Medicine IT executive management team. The position directs and manages eight major functions across the Stony Brook Medicine Health System:
Infrastructure Operations and Engineering
Data Center and IT Operations
End User Computing
Network and Voice Services
Infrastructure Portfolio Management
Duties of the Chief Technology Officer may include but are not limited to the following:
Develops and leads a high performing team of leaders, who manages a diverse team of 80+ professionals within Infrastructure and Operations.
Provides strategic direction and oversight for Healthcare Infrastructure Solutions Planning; responsible for the development and execution of a multi-year enterprise wide infrastructure strategy and roadmap; platform and business unit technology solutioning and planning methodology and the allocation of resources.
This leader directs the development of the platform roadmap and drives the Infrastructure & Operations department to embrace next generation technology in support of the strategic objectives
Develops the annual budget for Infrastructure & Operations for the Health System to ensure it is consistent with overall strategic objectives of technology and the enterprise and is aligned to the IT strategic plan.
Directs the development of the Health System and Clinically Integrated Network Infrastructure & Operations strategy and provides executive participation in strategic partner relationship management.
Commits to growing and transforming the workforce culture, applies their experience in developing new capabilities while serving as an effective coach and developer of talent.
Provides overall leadership, direction and project management to ensure cost effective design, development, engineering, integration, implementation, testing and maintenance of new infrastructure computing architecture systems in support of business objectives and requirements.
Establish strategic relationships with key vendors to drive business value, streamline processes, improve service delivery and reduce costs.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement to improve quality, efficiency and standards across IT infrastructure and services.
Accountable for leading, managing and coaching the next level of IT leadership.
Develop engineering/technical strategy, associated KPI dashboards, and continuously improve methods, systems and processes in a complex and rapidly changing environment to improve customer satisfaction and ensure continuous processes improvement for the Health System and Clinically Integrated Network.
Ensure system is built for disaster situations at an acceptable cost.
Oversees the Biomedical Engineering Department and the medical device integration with the infrastructure to allow for streamlined efficient patient care.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS or related field.
Minimum of 15+ years of broad-based technology and engineering experience within health solutions or medical devices technologies with increasing levels of responsibility

Candidates will have a demonstrated ability to apply an analytical, process-driven approach to include appropriate KPI's, in order to be proactive in all technical matters globally
