Mercy Health-St. Charles Hospital offers an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)-accredited PGY1-Pharmacy Residency. Our 12-month residency allows the resident to experience a wide range of clinical areas tailored to the resident's individual interests. During the program the residents are involved in patient-centered care, medication use policies, medication information, project management, leadership and practice management, education of health care providers and APPE students, and ambulatory medication management. The purpose of this PGY1-Pharmacy Residency is to build on the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
Current resident benefits include:
Stipend of $51,500 (inclusive of travel)
Ten (10) days paid vacation
Three (3) days paid interview days
Seven (7) days paid holidays
Professional leave to attend two meetings (ASHP Midyear and Ohio Pharmacy Resident Conference)
Be enrolled in or a graduate of an ACPE-accredited PharmD program
Be eligible for Ohio pharmacist licensure
Letter of intent
Three (3) letters of recommendation submitted through PhORCAS
Be available for interview
