Description: The Laboratory Analyst is responsible for testing a variety of drinking water treatment units and chemicals in the Product Testing Lab. This position is also responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of tests related to WQA projects.
Essential Responsibilities: • Performs a variety of routine lab testing, such as performance testing, structural integrity testing and materials safety testing. • Conducts standard sample analyses against various industry standards, such as NSF/ANSI, CSA, WQA, etc. • Properly assembles, installs and breaks down various water treatment test units. • Documents and records all test procedures and sample results. • Creates reports related to testing and sample results and ensures the information is provided to project managers, external clients and various WQA Certification staff in an accurate and timely manner. • Interacts with clients to create custom testing protocols. • Writes and revises WQA Lab standard operating procedures and standard test methods. • Test bench and instrument maintenance, calibration and preparation of all equipment necessary for testing. • Assists in training new Analysts and Technicians in standard operating procedures, standard test methods and sample analyses. • Drafts and prepares Corrective Action Reports (CARs) related to process improvement. • Continuously meets all WQA ongoing training and education requirements as determined by Laboratory Management, including CWS/MWS and CI status. • Has a thorough understanding of the Laboratory Quality Assurance Plan (LQAP).
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related Science • 1-3 years experience in a lab environment • CWS certification preferred • Ability to drive forklift preferred • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Experience with LIMS, preferred

Hours Requirements: • This is a full-time position. Ability to work occasional nights and weekends.
Physical Requirements: • This position works in a standard lab environment. • Ability to lift 100 lbs.
