The Laboratory Technologist Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the COVID19 Early Detection Program Laboratory, including mastery, knowledge and training of all lab activities conducted by lab personnel, direct supervision and hiring of lab personnel, oversight of saliva kit production, process improvement including modifying existing SOPs and writing new ones as needed, and participation in leadership, management and scenario planning for the Early Detection Program as well as other duties as assigned. The successful candidate should have significant experience in lab project management, supervisory experience, and a strong knowledge of molecular biology, matrix preparation, developing SOPs, record keeping, inventory control, budgeting ordering and the desire to lead and innovate. The successful candidate must have excellent communication and planning/organization skills, and the ability to lead a large team.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four year college degree program in Biology or Biomedical Science; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in the technical aspects of the work to be performed, knowledge of research methodology, developing and implementing procedures and programs, supervision of laboratory staff, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The job may require specialty certifications, approvals, or training
