The WKU School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) invites applications for the position of full-time, tenure-track 9 month appointment Assistant Professor in Construction Management beginning Fall 2021. The responsibilities include teaching, research and service. The candidate is expected to have experience in residential and commercial construction. The responsibilities of this position include high quality teaching, student advising, engagement in research and dissemination of research results through publication. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented, diverse, multicultural environment. Service to and support of WKU, Ogden Science College, SEAS and the Construction Management programs' mission of project-based education that is both effective and sustainable is expected.
Ph.D. in Construction Management, or a related field
Minimum of three years of construction field experience or post-doctorate teaching experience
Evidence of strong communication skills in spoken and written English
Ability to teach courses and laboratories in at least three of the following areas with the capacity to grow in two other areas: Construction Methods and Materials, Estimating, Administration, Scheduling, Project Management, Contract Documents, Quality management, Capstone Projects, Equipment and Materials, Building Codes, Soil Mechanics, Infra-structure Construction, Building Structures, Construction Technology Lab, BIM, MEP Systems, Sustainable Construction, lean construction, electrical systems, Building detailing
Ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses
