We are currently seeking a Project Engineer in our Roanoke, VA office. Successful candidates will have a breadth of A/V design, engineering, and project management experience that is centered around commercial design and installation in K12, Higher Ed, Corporate, and Houses of Worship markets. Strong familiarity with A/V system design, including product specifications, CAD drawing packages, system documentation preparation, along with strong organizational skills required. Design/engineering department management experience is a plus. Proven ability to complete and close jobs to the customer’s satisfaction required. InfoComm CTS certification required, CTS-D strongly preferred.
Candidates should be well versed in creating A/V schematics, coordinating with the sales department, installations department, and client, and be able to see a project through from order to final sign-off with minimal supervision. Good communication and personal skills are required, as the successful candidate will interact heavily with sales staff, installation crews, and clients. Some local overnight travel is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
System drawing with AutoCad or similar software
Install Audio Visual equipment and systems
Act as primary point of contact between client and employees
Provide onsite project management
Organize employees and direct workflow with installers/teams
Identify and address safety concerns on the job site to include correcting the issue
Identify potential issues that impact the project
Deploy resources to address issues
Collaborate with Operations Manager to elevate issues for resolution
Provide off-site project management
Establish and maintain project schedules
Establish and maintain project documentation
Coordinate client, design team, sales team and installation activities for each project
Track and report time for employees and subcontractors utilized
High school education or equivalent, college preferred
Minimum of 4 years experience in A/V design/engineering with 2 years at a senior/leadership level
Experience using system drawing software
Strong customer service skills
Good Organizational skills
Understanding of basic building code requirements
Experience working with hand and power tolls
Good driving record
Ability to pass background check and pre-employment drug screen
CTS-I or CTS-D preferred
