Reporting into the team Director, you will be supporting the team in providing firm-wide guidance to the many business and functional areas engaged in green and sustainable finance. This will entail providing tools, advice and governance support for green and sustainable products, ensuring consistency and integrity in criteria and application.

What will you be doing?
Assisting in implementing a comprehensive and dynamic firm-wide eligibility framework / taxonomy to support the development of products and align with industry best practice
Supporting the Director and Senior Manager in the provision of consistent green and sustainable finance advice, and governance support, to business lines and Treasury initiatives
You will support in identifying new opportunities and product solutions to business lines, responding to emerging frameworks such as transition finance; biodiversity, blue economy
Supporting attendance and engagement with business unit sustainability forums, and initiatives, as well as individualised deal team support, to provide the Group's perspective
Contributing to the effective running of team processes and systems
Contributing to policy response, where necessary, and implementing any relevant regulatory initiatives such as EU Taxonomy
Supporting the annual green product framework review and refresh process, to include new and emerging areas, ensuring guidelines and best practices reflect commercial reality
Contributing to governance and internal review, including engaging with existing governance processes
What we're looking for:
A good understanding of best practice in green and sustainable business models and banking products
Experience in developing new solutions or reviewing products from an ESG/sustainability perspective
Previous industry experience, ideally in banking or financial institutions, including client engagement
Technical depth and knowledge of core ESG/Sustainability issues
Skills that will help you in the role:
Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, alongside strong stakeholder management skills and commercial acumen
Strong global experience and network in banking and/or ESG and sustainability
Knowledge of public policy and regulatory issues related to sustainability definitions/taxonomies (EU and globally)
Familiarity with social innovation space, and the creative approach to problem-solving necessary to innovate
