Responsible for the oversight of planning, organizing, collecting, storing, analyzing, and ensuring data integrity and security. Quality data is essential for reporting to internal and external MSU Extension stakeholders.
The School of Human Sciences provides education, research, and outreach programs related to human interaction and relationships, early childhood, child life, youth, adult and family studies, and teaching education in Family and Consumer Sciences and Agricultural Education. In addition, selected School programs focus on commerce, marketing, and using technology for problem solving and designing programs and projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Responsible for management of data systems including data analysis and reporting using various software systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Digital Measures, and other data software systems. * Development, modification, implementation, and maintenance of data systems. * Collaborate on the development and dissemination of university, state, and federal reports. * Assume a leadership role to ensure precise and high-quality data are maintained across all projects. * Provide training and technical assistance to Extension professionals on use of data systems. * Optimize tools and processes, analyze data for errors, and make analytical decisions based upon existing policies and procedures. * Ensure data security and confidentiality. * Contribute to the scholarship of outreach and Extension.
* Masters degree in a related field * 3 years of experience in a similar position * Demonstrated experience in data systems management, data analysis, and data security * Strong organizational and communication skills * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and attention to detail * Knowledge of university, state, and/or federal reporting procedures
* Ability to manage multiple tasks with deadlines * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player * Previous experience as Data Management Coordinator, Data Management Services, Research Associate (or similar position) with experience analyzing data and writing reports
