We are looking for an experienced compensation professional to join our Global Compensation Team in Irvine to support our annual compensation process and provide analytical support to our Strategic HR Business Partners & HR Delivery team to address the compensation needs of our employees globally.
Under general direction of the Global Compensation Team, responsible for supporting the implementation and administration of compensation and incentive process, practices, and programs. Engage with our HR Business Partners & HR Delivery teams to provide market-based compensation analytics and guidance in line with the company’s pay for performance philosophy. Work with the Global Total Rewards team to provide support and direction on global compensation process and programs. Analyze market information to provide insights regarding labor market trends; perform job analysis, review job responsibilities and specifications; apply job evaluation techniques to establish equitable compensation rates and pay structures for our employees globally.
Support a broad array of compensation programs that involve communication, implementation and administration of our programs and processes in support of Western Digital’s business strategy.
Build consultative and collaborate relationships with HR Business Partners, HR Delivery, Talent Acquisition and Total Rewards on various compensation related matters.
Support annual compensation processes to include merit and promotional salary review, short-term incentive accrual and payout and long-term incentive award allocation.
Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, system readiness and communication efforts.
Utilize and maintain Market Pay survey tool to manage our global compensation benchmarking efforts that includes both a Leadership & Professional and a Manufacturing / Factory workforce.
Participate in compensation surveys and market pricing events conducted by survey vendors in various countries/regions to build and update our market data library used to review our global compensation practices where we compete for talent.
Remain current on our employment and compensation policies, practices and programs; and stays informed of new (and pending) laws and regulations that affect these programs.
Act as internal consultant/advisor and makes recommendations to Leaders, HR Business Partners, HR Delivery and Talent Acquisition on various compensation matters; and where appropriate, interprets local, state, and federal laws regulating compensation practices.
Supports the development of communication materials to effectively educate and inform Leaders & Employees on compensation related training and education materials.
3 to 5 years’ experience as a compensation analyst, preferably in a global technology organization.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Advanced knowledge of compensation fundamentals and program design strategies.
Experience with HRIS and utilizing Workday’s Advance Compensation Module is preferred.
Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate policies and procedures to all levels of staff and management.
Able to handle high level of confidentiality regarding workforce and organizational changes.
Excellent planning, time management, communication, decision making, presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills.
