As an integral member of a small team, the Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative support for the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness (ISC). The ISC is a nonprofit research, education, and policy organization founded by Professor Michael Porter. This is a fast-paced environment where the stakes are high and everyone is driven by ISC's mission to advance scholarship; develop practical, research-based frameworks; and educate and advise leaders and policy makers.
The Executive Assistant reports to the Administrative Director. This is full time, overtime eligible position. After hours and weekend coverage is required as needed to support travel and other critical items. This is a standard 12-month term position with the potential to renew on an annual basis. As this individual will be managing many facets of Prof. Porter's professional and personal commitments, complete discretion and confidentiality is required.
In this role you will:
Orchestrate the day-to-day management of Prof. Porter's calendar in consultation with the Administrative Director, determining priority status of meeting requests and adjusting as needed.
Coordinate the flow of daily appointments, including arranging and confirming travel and logistics, tracking and organizing follow-up and administrative tasks
Maintain physical and digital files, coordinates preparatory materials for meetings and courses, and assists with correspondence and inquiries
This individual is a welcoming face for the Institute, triaging and directing external requests to the appropriate members of the Institute or other members of the HBS community.
Collaborate with the Administrative Director on maintaining and improving all office systems
Execute operational items such as supply requests and work orders

Five years of administrative experience supporting senior/executive level staff. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Office 360), and familiarity with iPhone and iPad features are essential.
BS/BA strongly preferred. Strong communication skills; meticulous attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple priorities well. Strong writing skills.
