Ashland Community and Technical invites applications a Public Relations Specialist. At ACTC, we are more than buildings and programs: we are a community where students find confidence, collaboration, compassion and success. We are looking for a creative collaborator to join our team.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Write weekly newspaper column for Independent, Greenup Beacon, Ashland Beacon, Greenup Beacon, OH and WV papers, etc.
Post column and media releases to web news
Weekly Events & Announcements email to all students, faculty & staff
Bi-monthly Pulse/Campus News
Bi-annual Connections (spring and fall)
Serve as media liaison for campus events and activities, as well as providing subject matter expert contacts to media as requested.
Media releases on college programs, initiatives, events
Media releases on KCTCS, initiatives, with local comment
Take photos of campus public events, special college projects, student activities, check/gift presentations, staff directory and other situations as needed.
Post stories, photos, etc. on social media to help promote the recognition and value of ACTC; respond to inquiries sent through social media.
Write/edit college and program information and provide photos as requested for KCTCS-produced viewbooks, mini viewbooks, digital viewbook and brochures for the college as well as KCTCS publications such as the KCTCS Profile.
Post announcements for the public to Electronic Billboard
Update scholarship applications annually
Respond to requests for ACTC logo or photos for internal or external publications
Assist with flyers/graphics as needed
Other duties as assigned
The successful applicant will have excellent written and oral communication skills and possess a working knowledge of basic photography and post-editing. A bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year of related experience is required. Prefer an applicant with higher education experience. The position will remain open until filled.
