The library director provides oversight for all the personnel and functions of the RT Williams Library of SNU. SNU’s library director will focus the team on excellent service to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the surrounding community.
Operates the budget so as to obtain the most relevant, useful, and curricularly supportive services, resources, and equipment possible.
Updates internal acquisition budget allotments based on appropriate formulas for academic libraries.
Works with the Director of Academic Grants to seek grant funding for special projects.
Recommends timely and affordable avenues of access to academic materials needed to support teaching and learning in across curricular areas of the University.
Selects and purchases library resources for the general and reference collections.
Purchases specialized materials requested by department heads so far as library policies and departmental allowances permit.
Develops consortial agreements beneficial to providing academic resources.
Leverages and integrates digital resources to enhance learning and research.
Supports research in all academic sectors of the institution.
Plans the improvement of the library in quality and service.
Implements long-range planning and systematic evaluation to ensure exemplary library resources, services, and facilities.
Maintains and plans for changes and improvement in the library facilities, especially to support students’ academic achievement.
Regularly surveys and updates library print and digital holdings so as to ensure vibrant and appropriate collections.
In consultation with Department Chairs and faculty where appropriate, formulates and updates policies and procedures concerning the library’s services and resources.
Ensure information literacy outcomes are appropriately integrated into curriculum for all student populations across modalities.
Advises the University community on academic integrity issues, including copyright and fair use.
Supervises faculty and staff in all areas of library operations, including acquisitions, cataloging, reference, circulation, reserve, periodicals, archives, and digital initiatives.
Promotes ongoing training and professional development of library faculty and staff to maximize services to University communities.
Coordinates all aspects of library information technology, including ongoing development and improvement of technologies for delivering appropriate services for learners across University academic programs.
Makes an annual written report to the Provost.
Assists the Provost in locating and selecting faculty members.

In determining whether a hostile environment exists, the university examines the context, nature, scope, frequency, duration, and location of incidents, as well as the relationships of the persons involved.
Non-sex-based VAWA crimes. Note that, when addressing domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking that are not sexbased (i.e., that are not covered by the university’s revised Sexual Harassment policy), the university will need to provide VAWA protections to the parties. Those are outlined on the slides below.
Under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Southern Nazarene University prohibits all unlawful discrimination on the basis of sex or gender in its educational programs and activities, except where the University has been granted exemptions from certain Title IX regulations on religious grounds, including the specific religious tenet of the University.
