The ASHP accredited PGY1/PGY2 Pharmacotherapy Residency program at Idaho State University is jointly funded by the Departments of Pharmacy Practice and Family Medicine. This program provides interdisciplinary clinical pharmacy training in both inpatient and outpatient care settings with an emphasis in academia and quality improvement/research. Pharmacotherapy residents train side-by-side family medicine medical residents as valued members of the patient care team.
Pocatello has a low cost of living, a family-friendly atmosphere and world class outdoor recreation activities. Salt Lake City, Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, Sun Valley, Jackson Hole, Lava Hot Springs and the largest wilderness areas in the lower 48 states are all within a 3-hour drive from Pocatello. The weather is relatively mild for an area situated at 4600 feet and consists of four seasons where clear, sunny and dry days are the norm.
