The Member and Sponsor Associate/Assistant to the Vice President reports to the Vice President and supports the Office of Advancement and Member Engagement on researching, stewarding, and managing correspondence, inquiries, database functions for donors, sponsors, grants, members, and grantors. Supports meeting and event planning, project management, and data functions for the Office of Advancement and Engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides general support to the Vice President including, but not limited to, scheduling and travel management.
Manages expenses for the Office of Advancement and Member Engagement through applicable data systems.
Provides support for regular and routine mailing of correspondence to members, donors and other constituents.
Manages sponsor/donor information in database, including tracking all sponsorship inquiries, payments and routine reporting of progress to Vice President.
Responds to sponsorship inquiries and follows up as necessary.
Under the direction of the Vice President and Director communicates directly with sponsors to receive necessary information to fulfill the terms of the sponsorship agreements, including all logistics for meetings, events, publications, and emails.
As directed by the Vice President researches and solicits communications between AAC&U and companies or institutions that may potentially sponsor AAC&U initiative that have aligned missions and goals.
Processes donations, sponsorship payments, and gifts.
Responds to fundraising and gift related inquiries.
In collaboration with the Vice President and Director, develops the annual meeting and thematic meeting prospectuses.
Leads and tracks progress of existing sponsorship agreements from execution to completion including regular check-ins with sponsors to assess return on investment and assure satisfaction.
Manages member information in database, including tracking all payment of membership fees and routine reporting to the Vice President.
Responds to membership inquiries and follows up as necessary.
As directed by the Vice President, researches database related information regarding member payments, gaps in membership by institutional demographics, etc.
Assists the Senior Director of Membership by serving as secondary manager of the member services email box responsible for responding to inquiries received there.
Duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
Possess a bachelor’s degree; graduate degree preferred.
Minimum two-four years professional experience preferably in association or higher education setting emphasizing attention to detail and responsive customer service required.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills required.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills required.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in team environments required.
Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word required.
Familiarity with iMIS or Salesforce is highly preferred.
Familiarity with Microsoft Access preferred.
