Weatherford Equine Medical Center is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible internal medicine specialist to join our full-service equine practice in Weatherford, TX. The successful applicant will share in-hospital internal medicine responsibilities with our current ACVIM specialist, expand currently offered services, and develop an ambulatory caseload. The horse population surrounding Weatherford, TX is becoming more diverse. Most of our clients are in the cutting horse industry, but many other Western and English disciplines are growing in the area. Fort Worth, Texas is only 30 minutes away and hosts numerous shows in various disciplines at Will Rogers Coliseum.
WEMC is in the Cutting Horse Capital of the World and offers primary and tertiary care services to horses from NE Louisiana to West Texas and Southern Oklahoma to Southern Texas. The state-of-the-art facility was built in 2002. The hospital includes multiple exam areas, surgical suite, ICU, isolation, lameness center, reproduction center, SonoSite ultrasounds, digital radiography, 1m and 3m videoendoscopy, pharmacy, and lab. WEMC is a partner in Animal Imaging of Irving, TX which provides access to MRI, standing CT, and nuclear scintigraphy from board-certified radiologists and a board-certified anesthesiologist.

Weatherford Equine Medical Center is a 9 veterinarian equine practice located just thirty miles west of Fort Worth. We have a 16,000 square foot hospital, that includes; 15 in-patient stalls, 9 mare and foal intensive care stalls, 5 isolation stalls, a surgery suite with two induction/recovery stalls, a special procedures room for standing surgery, endoscopy, etc., four separate exam areas with stocks, and a complete in-house lab which is also a federally accredited coggins lab. Also included are five one acre turnouts, one six acre pasture, and a ten acre pasture for long term boarders. We also have a 7,500 square foot indoor lameness facility with 15 additional stalls.
