We are looking for a technical leader who has a passion for security, clarity of vision and relevant experience to advance our cloud security strategy and work closely with executives and engineers to drive innovative, end-to-end, security solutions into the organization. In your first 12 months you will be responsible for working across security engineering and business teams to identify security risks and vulnerabilities and ensure our next-gen AWS hosted investment research applications are designed and implemented to the highest security standards. You will also ensure the AWS services needed by our investment engineering teams have security built-in from the outset and are provided in advance of them being required.
You will combine strategic technical security experience with deep knowledge of AWS's cloud services, and business acumen to design and execute security solutions that balance risk mitigation, business objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational efficiency.
You will build and lead cross-functional virtual teams and bring exceptional communication and influencing skills to achieve consensus, identify and mitigate security risks, mature our security control environment, deconstruct and prioritize ambiguous security problems into straightforward options and solutions, and drive understanding of security for engineering teams and executives alike.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field
10+ years of security engineering experience with advanced knowledge of assessing security risks and vulnerabilities, and designing secure solutions that balance risk mitigation, business objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational efficiency
10+ years communicating complex security and technical concepts to non-technical audiences
5+ years spent designing and implementing security solutions hosted in AWS and built using AWS services
Passion, curiosity and creativity combined with exceptional communication skills
Experience of building applications hosted at Azure and/or GCP
Advanced understanding of the full range controls and technologies required to securely mange end-to-end information flows across all technical components - identify and authentication, encryption, network security, application security
Broad experience of designing and delivering secure solutions across a wide range of technologies that include AI/ML, RPA, Big-Data, Collaboration tools and the ability to quickly pick up new technologies
Recent experience building and integrating security requirements into modern application development platforms and methodologies, both Cloud Native and traditional that include CI/CD tool sets, Agile/DevOps practices
Strong track record of bringing a product-oriented mind-set to the design and implementation of security tools used by other technology and user groups so they are easy to consume and built to automatically scale
Strong project management experience combined with ability to form and lead virtual teams of business and technical subject matter experts to set security strategy, agree security solutions and problem solve
Experience of working closely with internal risk teams and contributing to the design of security policies, standards and controls
Knowledge of security standards and regulations relevant to the financial industry (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, NIST)
