The Office of Ethics, Compliance and Audit Services (ECAS) is a Regental office that is responsible for developing and administering the University of California's (UC) compliance and audit programs and thereby ensuring that the University is in compliance with professional standards; internal policies and procedures; and all applicable local, national and international laws and regulations. ECAS provides this support through three core lines of service: Audit Services, Compliance Services and Investigations Services. Our office collaborates on a variety of initiatives and projects with the entire UC system, our ten campuses, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, the UC Office of the President , the Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and the five UC academic medical centers.
The Senior Analyst and Investigations Coordinator is responsible for administration of the UC Whistleblower Hotline and UCPD Complaint Hotline, including managing user access, systemwide reporting and case triage.
Additionally, this person will work closely with the Director of Investigations and the Investigations team to:
Maintain iSight, a case management system for the investigators in the Office of Ethics, Compliance and Audit Services (ECAS), including reporting and system administration.
Assist investigators with project management or casework.
Assist the Director of Investigations with case triage, reporting, data analytics.
Assist on other duties as assigned.
May be assigned to research policies, procedures or practices across the system, develop documentation.
Works with the Chief of Staff and ECAS analyst team on compliance, policy and budget projects as assigned. Examples of duties may include research, data analytics, assistance with policy software implementation, development of training materials, budget reports or human resources matters.
Receives general instructions on routine work with more detailed instruction on new or complex assignments.
Responsibilities 50% Administers the UC Whistleblower Hotline and UCPD Complaint Hotline. Responsible for training, advice and assisting others in the use and maintenance of the database. May assist in intake, triage and close out of complaints. 20% Develops solutions to address complex system-wide issues. Examples include RFPs, ECAS compliance or audit initiatives, system implementation, development of toolkits and process documentation. Serves as ECAS resource for reports. 15% Administers ECAS investigations case management system, including reporting. Assist in research and analyses of issues, policies, and complaints at varying levels of complexity. 15% Coordinates committees and/or workgroups and provides reports and analyses on complex issues. Examples include working with policy or compliance workgroup stakeholders or workgroups to develop training modules. May lead workgroups and committees on issues with moderate scope and impact. Required Qualifications
Minimum three years' experience working in the ethics and compliance profession.
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to gather, organize, complete analysis and develop recommendations in the completion of assignments.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups. Skills in coalescing viewpoints and facilitating outcomes in group settings.
Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner both in writing and verbally.
Strong project management skills including planning, overseeing progress to ensure timely completion, and communicating progress with stakeholders.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of ethics and compliance profession, theories and systems of internal control, and professional compliance and investigations standards.
Broad knowledge of University ethics and compliance policies, procedures and programs.
Applies thorough ethics and compliance concepts and applications in the completion of assignments Education
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Advanced Degree preferred.
Professional certification preferred.
