NYU Tandon seeks to create, design and deliver specialized live programming to all of its students through highly customized and targeted professionaldevelopment services, not currently offered at NYU to meet the demands and realities of tech/engineering employers. The programming offered by NYU Tandon includes non-credit semester-long bootcamps to prepare engineering students for technical/whiteboard interviews for Tech and consulting companies (Leetcode, Data Science, and consulting case prep advanced interviews), as well as career exploration and preparation for STEM-related employment, offered by staff with prior tech HR/recruitment experience and, preferably, with a STEM educational background. NYU Tandon and recent grads have consistently voiced their need for targeted STEM professionaldevelopment/preparation, in-depth technical interview preparation and expansive STEM career exploration programming offered from the first year (and through the duration) of attendance as a Tandon student.
This position will be an integral part of the Tandon Office of Career Services. Lead, develop and manage courses tailored specifically for the needs, goals and realities of STEM students. Coordination of specialized career programming with STEM employers. Provide career advising assistance and support to NYU Tandon recent grads for career change, job search and career exploration.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree Business & Technology management, Psychology, Human Resources or related fields.
Required Experience: This position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in career development, operations management, counseling, or human resources, as well as a minimum of 3 years’ experience in program development, project management, relationship management and planning small/mid-scale events.
Preferred Experience: A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in an academic environment, STEM-related organization is preferred. A minimum of 2 year of project management experience is preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: This position requires excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills. This position also requires knowledge of public sector employment options and hiring trends. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Social Media tools is required.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Familiarity with private sector employment areas such finance, start ups, block chain, engineering, technology, urban planning, healthcare administration, urban planning, and nonprofit/government consulting is preferred. Familiarity with Symplicity, Brazen or other relationship management databases is a plus.
