Lead execution of high-profile University announcements, including development of streamlined process, timelines, key messages and coordination with cross-campus communicators.
Provide communications support and project management for external key initiatives and campaigns with various internal units, institutes, and schools to help maximize exposure and visibility, and ensure the Universityâ™s core values, priorities and messages are reflected in these efforts.
Working closely with the AVP, implement a communications plan, including tools and processes to engage nearly 300 University campus communicators across new and existing internal multi-media channels. This includes the development of a campus-wide communications newsletter, which requires coordination with key communicators across campus, curating and publishing editorial content.
Support implementation of internal events, including logistics and content (agendas, presentations, video, external speakers, etc.) for internal meetings of all sizes ranging from annual all-campus communicator forums Â to quarterly all-staff meetings.
Support organizational announcements (promotions, new hires).
Develop and implement metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of internal communications.
Plans, develops and disseminates information designed to keep the public informed of the organization's programs, accomplishments, or point of view, with moderate levels of guidance and direction.
Accomplishes assigned duties through two or more of the following: written communications; visual/graphic media, which may include Web site development and maintenance; speeches and personal contact. The incumbent is still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills.
Performs other related work as needed.
Bachelorâ™s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
5-7 years of proven success managing or supporting internal communications or public relations, preferably in a large, matrixed organization.
Exceptional written and verbal communication, proofreading, problem-solving, decision-making, client service and cross-department collaboration skills.
Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Self-motivated go-getter with a positive attitude; work independently with a high degree of initiative.
Exceptional time and project management and organizational skills including the ability to meet external and internal deadlines.
Maintain confidentiality; handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
Strong business acumen and emotional intelligence.
