The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Corporate Services Directorate (CS) – Information Technology (IT) Business Services Department (BSD) – Risk Management and BPP Division (RB) - Data Warehouse & Reporting Unit (DW & REPORTING) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a (Senior) Business Intelligence Specialist. This is a full time temporary position at grade 5/6. (Reduced working hours can be considered. Minimum availability of 80%)
The term of this contract will be 2 years.

As a (Senior) Business Intelligence Officer, internally referred to as (Senior) Officer IT Applications, you will be involved in the design, development, optimization and maintenance of the EIB Group Data Warehouse extractions and reports in line with industry best practices. You will actively work on the development of reporting solutions for mandates and operations, with a special focus on reports related to EIB Group response to the COVID.
Mandate reporting expanded over the past years with European Fund for Strategic Investment (EFSI) activities and will continue to grow with the Group's response to the COVID crisis. This development of the mandate management activity is dependent on the implementation of new IT solutions, of which the Group Data Warehouse and related reporting is a key element.
You will be the main point of contact within the Data Warehouse & Reporting Unit for mandate applications and mandate management users.
You will report to the Head of Data Warehouse & Reporting Unit and liaise with representatives of the Directorates to ensure the maintenance of appropriate internal service provision, paying special attention to mandate management counterparts.
Contribute to the definition of an IT strategy related to the Group Data Warehouse and the associated policies and procedures with a special focus on mandate management area. Assist in their efficient implementation with regard to the short, medium, and long term in full compliance with EIB responsibilities for external reporting to mandators, EC and other EU bodies, in liaison with applications development teams
Ensure that IT policies and initiatives in the Group Data Warehouse field are implemented and mandate management reporting needs are handled in the most effective and efficient manner
Define a unified approach for developing the Group Data Warehouse and producing mandate management reporting
Ensure that the technical development and maintenance of the Group Data Warehouse related projects are in full compliance with mandate management reporting expectations, latest banking regulation standards and industry best practices
Ensure Group Data Warehouse architecture and governance adequacy with mandate management needs
Lead IT projects in the mandate management area and ensure their delivery within the planned time, scope and budget
Coordinate the preparation of project documentation such as project charter, functional design, test scripts, progress report; review all technical deliverables
Evaluate the effectiveness of the Group Data Warehouse designs and developments to serve mandate management needs, escalating issues as necessary and taking the necessary corrective actions
University degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, Finance or related fields
At least 5 years of relevant experience in the design, development, and maintenance of data warehouse and reporting
Excellent knowledge of project management principles, methods and practices
Proven experience implementing reporting standards, ideally gained within banking sector
Strong technical knowledge of SAP Business Objects Suite (or equivalent reporting tools) and ETL tools (such as IBM Infosphere Datastage, Talend, Informatica)
Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (*), with a good knowledge of the other. (Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage).
