The Digital Engagement Manager (DEM) is an integral position in the Office of University Advancement at Vanguard University. Tasked with developing and leading digital initiatives to engage donors, alumni, and other priority constituencies, the DEM works in partnership with University Advancement departments and directors to build affinity and philanthropy towards the University. The DEM oversees all University of Advancement digital platforms and channels and seeks to drive acquisition of new donors and supporters for the University. The DEM reports directly to the Sr. Director of External Relations and works in close partnership with the Director of Advancement Communications who oversees overall communications strategy and content for University Advancement.
Partner with University Advancement directors and departments to develop and oversee digital engagement initiatives and campaigns to support fundraising and University Advancement goals.
Develop and execute targeted digital engagement and fundraising campaigns, such as Giving Day, crowdsourcing campaigns, cause and affinity based campaigns, and capital campaigns.
Oversee University Advancement webpage, managing Advancement webpage content to promote fundraising programs and initiatives, campaigns, and events.
Oversee University Advancement social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Develop and execute social media strategies that support departmental goals and increases followers and engagement, driving awareness, fundraising, and engagement amongst donors, alumni, and friends of the University.
Develop and execute paid digital media strategies, including paid social media boosts, to drive engagement to achieve University Advancement goals.
Build, send, and measure mass and targeted email communications for University Advancement, including newsletters and event promotions.
In partnership with University Advancement directors, develop and execute strategies for digital events with focus on alumni events.
Establish and track key metrics, goals, and analytics for reach and impact across all digital channels to ensure initiatives and campaigns are optimized for engagement. This includes social media, web sites, newsletters, and email campaigns.
Oversee contracted videographer’s projects and workflow and integrate videos across digital platforms.
Continually examine new ways to leverage fundraising, campaigns, events through digital channels.
Develop and maintain relationships with University departments, faculty, and staff to integrate University updates and offerings into digital engagement initiatives.
Serve as an active member of the University Advancement and External Relations team; assist with University Advancement events, and perform other duties as assigned by the Sr. Director of External Relations or Office of University Advancement.
Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in digital engagement and analytics and tangible experience interacting with constituents online, building strong followings that engage and build affinity.
Experience overseeing social media channels and related strategies; and experience developing and executing paid digital media strategies.
Experience using social media to drive non-profit and philanthropic/giving strategies preferred.
Strong analytical skills in interpreting and translating metrics, and ability to act on findings.
Up to date on current trends, and able to grasp and act on future trends.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
Comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment with shared project/ program ownership.
Proactive, innovative and creative thinker and problem solver.
High standard of excellence regarding digital visuals and copy, accuracy and attention to details.
Experience with FinalSite, WordPress or other web management platforms.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) preferred.
Experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred.
