Work Hours/Shift: Full Time; 6:30am-3:30pm M-F with some evening and weekend responsibilities
You Will Be Responsible For:

Develops and implements safety and security policies for AHU campus and student housing.
Responsible for the safety and security of multiple facilities (school and housing buildings)
Responsible for the implementation of safety and security strategic initiatives and emergency preparedness plans.
Manages and directs the University Shuttle System and coordinating the maintenance of the shuttles with Hospital Fleet Management.
Develops five-year strategic plan for safety and security of all AHU Properties.
Performs day-time surveillance rounds of the AHU campus and student housing.
Oversees the training and development of staff.
Conducts active shooter/lockdown drills.
Responsible for the publication of the Annual Security Report
Responsible for the publication of the Clery Act Crime Report.
Responsible for Clery message distribution 24/7/365 to students and staff (e.g., lockdown).
Responsible for operating a balanced budget for AHU Security Services.
Responsible for annual performance reviews of all security officers and assigned staff.
Notifies management of security vulnerabilities, and assists in developing procedures for managing, storing, safekeeping and destroying sensitive or protected materials.
Monitors and maintains electronic physical security systems, such as fire, security surveillance, access control, burglar alarms, outdoor perimeter, real time location services (RTLS), such as duress alarms, license plate recognition (LPR) and other alarms.
Coordinates daily staff assignments.
Maintains considerable knowledge and judgment regarding AHU security and departmental regulations, procedures, and policies.
Aids in development and administration of programs to protect the organization, employeesâ™ and/or customersâ™ property from theft, sabotage, violence or other situation that endangers the wellbeing of students, employees, customers or facilities.
Maintains all safety and security logbooks whether in physical or digital format.
Attends all required meetings and campus/hospital training sessions.
Complete all requested trainings (training requested by AdventHealth will be paid for by the company).
Maintains working relationships with local law enforcement (receive daily crime reports), and fire departments.
Expected to be on call and respond to situations on nights and weekends, as applicable.
Assists the leader of Student Housing in maintaining a secure environment at the student housing complex. Performs other duties as assigned
What You Will Need:
Ability to speak, read and write in the English language
Understanding of higher education safety and security issues
Intermediate computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, and Excel, and the ability to operate security and parking management software
Ability to communicate and present effectively in both written and oral forms internally and externally
Ability to motivate co-workers to function effectively as a team in a challenging environment
Ability to assess risk and follow a proactive approach
Knowledge of governmental regulations and processes concerning Higher Ed Safety Issues (title IX, harassment, bullying etc.)
Associateâ™s degree with course work in Security, Law Enforcement, or an equivalent program
Three years of previous management experience
Two years of military or law enforcement experience
Two years of Security Officer experience (if no military or law enforcement)
Current, valid State driverâ™s license and driving record in accordance with AdventHealth Policy.
AVADE (Awareness, Vigilance, Avoidance, Defense, Escape/Environment) or equitable national certification
Personal Safety Training, Inc. â“ Handcuffing, or equitable national certification
Personal Safety Training, Inc. â“ Pepper Spray, or equitable national certification
Personal Safety Training, Inc. â“ Baton, or equitable national certification
TASER International â“ Conducted Electrical Weapon
The Security Operations Supervisor oversees the daily activities of their assigned area(s), security systems for protection of customers, employees, students and facilities, and investigates various crimes against the organization, clients, visitors and/or staff. The Security Operations Supervisor is responsible for security at AdventHealth University (AHU) and for the leadership and management of all Security Officers, Security Employees and Shuttle Personnel who are assigned to them. Beyond the standard responsibilities of a Security Officer, the Security Operations Supervisor is responsible for assisting leaders in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to safety and security; monitoring and maintaining fire (and other) equipment to ensure safety compliance; establishing evacuation protocols in the event of an emergency; and creating appropriate safety education. This role actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
