The Recruiting Relations Manager (RM) serves as the primary contact to companies for all aspects of MBA and alumni recruiting, managing corporate relationships in an assigned set of industries. The RM works closely with Corporate Relations Directors as part of an industry team that meets with professional student and alumni clubs and identifies companies to target for recruiting. The RM has the responsibility of developing and strengthening employer relationships through educating employers on best practices in order to develop their recruiting strategy.
Reporting to Director, Corporate Relations, the Recruiting Relations Manager (RM) is responsible for managing key HBS recruiting relationships and events for organizations in the following industries: Entrepreneurship, Technology and Telecommunications. Responsibilities include:
(40%) Serve as the primary relationship owner and day-to-day contact for MBA and alumni recruiting partners in an assigned set of industries. This involves retention and outreach efforts as well as autonomy in setting strategy and creating recruiting plans for organizations. Requires significant amount of email and phone interaction as well as in-person meetings with the Recruiting Coordinator/Manager at each organization.
The RM interaction with recruiting partners includes the following:
o Managing event and interview requests o Consulting on best recruiting practices and advising on ways to recruit effectively at HBS o Connecting companies to other constituents at the school o Enforcing HBS recruiting policies o Reviewing and approving job postings
In addition, the RM is responsible for maintaining the shared database with company information including contacts, event reservations, and job postings.
(20%) Assisting Corporate Relations Directors in working with leaders of assigned professional clubs to:
o coordinate program planning and career development for respective industry categories o target outreach companies o Ensure quality of experience for recruiting partners
To facilitate this, the RM will partner with various constituents within CPD.
(20%) Conceptualize and project manage key recruiting events for MBA students including virtual and on-campus interviews, recruiting events and multi-firm networking events. The RM works with cross-functional teams at HBS and is responsible for the seamless delivery of these events handling all logistics, communication, scheduling, and follow-up.
(10%) Contribute as an active member of the front-line office team. Available to answer both student and recruiter questions over the phone and in-person. Serve as auxiliary coach for resume and cover letter review and LinkedIn makeovers for students and alumni.
(10%) Assist with additional CPD initiatives including student presentations, website enhancements, career surveys and reports, conferences, etc.
As a team member, the RM is responsible for general office management and other duties as assigned.
During the current period of Covid-19 related restrictions, this position may start as a remote position, with the transition to onsite at HBS campus in Boston, MA when the office reopens.
