The Educational Technology Project Manager is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating Correctional Educational technology. This position is responsible for overseeing and implementing Corrections Educational technology hardware, creating technology project management plans, aligning technology, developing and executing rollout plans, and analyzing results. These projects require an understanding of information technology infrastructure, project management, business administration, customer service and how technology integrates into student learning. This person will build relationships with colleagues (OIT, Correctional and Online Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Faculty Development, and Professional Development), key stakeholders, educational partners, vendors and end-users to ensure goals for service quality and end-user productivity along with satisfaction are understood and exceeded.
Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages the research, implementation, integration and administration of Correctional Education technologies:
LMS and Applications (Blackboard and Lantern, Kaltura, Respondus, Ally, EesySoft, etc.)
Office capability (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
Network requirements as they align with Educational Technology
Works collaboratively with faculty, staff, technology partners to design, development and deploy technology across Ashland University correctional educational system.
Analyzes performance test results and connect technical resources to address issues.
Performs analyses of network connections within correctional facilities
Guides Expansion Team to bring correctional sites online ahead of go/no-go deadlines
Builds and maintains good working relationships with project teams, AU IT colleagues, and client stakeholders.
Creates documentation of timelines, project plans, meeting notes and action items.
Supports the vetting and implementation of new tools as needed for infrastructure requirements and teaching and learning.
Performs other related duties as required.
Main campus position with some necessary travel.
Bachelor's Degree (Education/Instructional Technology, Business, Technology or related fields) is required. Prefer Master's Degree in Education/Instructional Technology, or Business Management/Administration or associated field.
Demonstrated knowledge of higher education technology is preferred.
Proven experience and knowledge integrating technology hardware and software.
Three (3) to five (5) years customer service and/or product support experience.
Excellent communication skills and follow-through.
Experience negotiating with and managing third-party vendors, including conflict resolution.
Program Management Professional (PMP), Microsoft and/or Apple Certification, and network administration preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of Asynchronous Learning Environments preferred.
Experience designing and integrating online courses and user interface considerations preferred.
Able to work on multiple projects concurrently and meet hard deadlines.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Office environment with some lifting and hauling of equipment up to 60 lbs.
Some weekend and evening working hours required as needed.
Availability via cell phone during normal working hours and after hours is a requirement of this position.
Valid driver's license is required along with the ability to drive to remote locations and attend training as assigned.
