The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Northwestern’s COVID-19 screening/testing program for students, faculty, and staff. Reporting to the Director of Operations, and working in partnership with Northwestern Medicine (NM) and University Health Services, the Operations Manager will supervise a team of testing coordinators and staff responsible for ensuring compliance with the University’s established protocols for testing.
Oversee 2-3 COVID-19 on-campus testing sites where students, staff, and faculty will complete COVID testing.
Under the direction of the Director of Operations, oversee day-to-day responsibilities for weekly testing of a cohort of faculty, students or staff.
Manage a team of Testing Coordinators assigned to their cohort throughout the testing process.
Responsible for onsite testing processes; includes ensuring all participants are pre-registered, managing the flow of testing participants, ensuring timely courier pick up of specimens for transport to the lab, and reviewing testing completion to ensure all registered participants are tested each week.
Manage administrative responsibilities for the COVID testing program team, including but not limited to, oversight of matters related to organizational structure, human resources, staffing and recruitment, compensation, performance management, IT and technical support.
Responsible for daily site operations, such as opening/closing procedures are followed, inventory is adequate for daily operations, appropriate PPE guidelines are followed by Testing Liaisons, and other duties assigned by the Director.
Ensure safeguarding of protected health information (PHI) and follow HIPAA guidelines.
Ensure necessary participant tracking reports are escalated to the appropriate team members for follow up and resolution.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
4+y years of program/project administration or other relevant experience.

Clinical or public health background.
Higher education experience.
Experience in and daily management /oversight of diagnostics or lab testing sites.
