Responsibilities This experienced financial analyst position is a member of the IT Finance team supporting financial management and business planning & analysis for strategic initiatives for the Information Technology division. This position will exercise initiative, originality and judgment in applying established principles and practices to new and unusual problems, and must work collaboratively with peers and customers. Projects supported may reach beyond UCDHS to the broader UC community, and in support of agreements with external entities. The incumbent will be required to perform financial and business analysis for projects, teams and the division, lead small projects, and establish new processes and procedures.
Experience providing financial and complex analysis for a large organizational division with an annual budget of at least $50M.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel such as linked spreadsheets, SUMIFS, VLOOKUPS, nested IF statements, and other sophisticated methods.
Experience developing Microsoft Access database or equivalently complex tools to aggregate disparate data sources.
Experience applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to various department business scenarios and communicating the impacts to a non-accounting audience.
Experience working with senior-level customer and peer executives, such as CFO, CIO.
Advanced professional communication skills, including experience preparing and delivering presentation materials for variety of audiences including executive stakeholders, internal and external audiences, client groups, and management.
Experience developing and maintaining project accounting and/or cost allocation models.
Advanced knowledge of ERP and financial systems; internet and computer literacy.
Experience independently leading complex analyses and small to mid-size projects that require collaboration with distributed management teams.
Possess problem-solving skills sufficient to define problem/task, identify most appropriate action, implement action and evaluate outcome, changing priorities as necessary.
Experience in an Information Technology division highly preferred.
Experience in a large integrated or academic health system preferred.
Four year degree in business, economics, or related discipline preferred.
Experience performing business process documentation and process improvement (e.g. Six Sigma)
Experience with business analysis concepts such as preparing business requirement documentation, workflow diagrams, etc
Experiencing using advanced features of SharePoint or other integrated collaboration tools preferred.
Strong project management skills and ability to contribute to or lead part of a multi-functional team.
Knowledge of SQL preferred.
Experience with Tableau or other BI tools
Knowledge of Eclipsys, infor Lawson preferred.
