Responsible for assisting with recruitment, development, management, coordination, and supervision of a competitive intercollegiate athletics program. Assists in communicating the vision for the department and assists with strategic initiatives. Overall responsibility for day to day internal operations of the Athletics Department. Works on cross-department projects that are aligned with the University's mission and strategic priorities. Ensures compliance with all university, BOR, NCAA, state, federal and conference policies rules and regulations. This position may also serve as sports administrator for particular sports programs.
Oversees internal operations including administration of men’s and women’s athletics programs, budgets, game operations, human resources, equipment, scheduling, facilities, and capital projects
Serves as Chief Operations Officer for Athletics by advising the Director on long range and strategic planning initiatives, departmental policies and procedures development, planning, monitoring, and allocation of resources
Assists in the recruitment, development, management, supervision, and leadership of staff and head coaches in the department.
Responsible for oversight of facilities management team, including maintenance, branding, usage and rentals.
Responsible for recruiting, hiring, coaches contract administration, onboarding, staff evaluations, salary recommendations, and disciplinary action/dismissal of personnel if necessary.
Ensures stability and sustainability with the departmental budget in compliance with University policy and procedures Serves as chief representative for Athletics concerning external and internal audits
Develops and administers policies and procedures to ensure compliance with governing rules, regulations and risk management procedures and protocols to minimize the risk of liability
Collaborates with University offices and community agencies to effectively manage assigned functions
Ensures fiscal soundness and compliance with governing rules, regulations, policies and procedures
Represents the University at appropriate ASUN, NCAA, Big South Committees and university meetings
Manages additional internal or external operations based on business needs and qualifications
Provides direct supervision to selected sports teams if necessary
Oversees the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics in absence of the Director of Athletics
Oversee all related special projects
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in post-secondary education or related field.
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted Georgia driver's license
Required Experience Seven (7) years of experience in intercollegiate athletic administration and/or head coaching experience
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications Master's Degree in sports administration and management.

Keeps abreast of conference and NCAA activities, including attending conference and NCAA meetings to aid in formulating appropriate athletics department policies
Skilled to communicate effectively; both written and oral, through a variety of media
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
