Mountain Point Equine Hospital has an opening for an Associate Veterinarian to join our rapidly growing practice at the base of the Wasatch Mountains in the beautiful Salt Lake Valley. Our ideal candidate would be a self-motivated individual, capable of working in a fast paced environment with a good attitude. We promote a collaborative work environment so good communication skills are necessary. This individual needs to be comfortable with routine care, lameness and emergency. Our practice serves a wide variety of equine disciplines - ranging in everything from high level english and western performance horses to beloved pasture pets. A friendly and knowledgable bed side manner is very important to us. We strive to provide the most up to date treatments and diagnostics, both in hospital and on the farm. We have an exceptional, hard working staff to support the practice both in the field and in the hospital. Currently, our practice is approximately 50% ambulatory and 50% in-hospital. Our facility consists of a newly-built hospital housing a large surgical suite, two exam and treatment rooms, 8 stall indoor intensive care unit (including 2 isolation stalls), 36 stall mare motel barn, individual stallion stalls with paddocks and collection facilities, as well as lameness evaluation area/outdoor arena and round pen. On-site diagnostic and treatment capabilities include digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy and full in-house laboratory. Emergency coverage is shared by all doctors on a rotating basis. Hospitalized cases are managed collaboratively by all vets so that “off time” is truly free to enjoy the abundance of outdoor activities our practice area has to offer - including skiing the “greatest snow on earth”, hiking/biking/horseback riding/atv-ing/rock climbing in beautiful alpine terrain of the mountains or amidst the fine sand of the red rock deserts (depending upon which direction you head from the valley!) as well as countless other lakes, rivers, caves, mountains. The greater Salt Lake area is truly a “choose your adventure” location - offering all the benefits and conveniences of a large city with easy and close access to epic mountains, deserts and lakes. Your home here is where others come for vacation! Salary is commensurate with the level of experience. Our benefits package includes paid vacation, a continuing education allowance, paid professional dues, license fees, a 401K match, and a health insurance allowance.
