The Pharmacy Department provides clinical services through decentralized pharmacists in an integrated practice model. NorthShore currently offers 12 positions in the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program, 3 positions in the PGY1 Community Residency program, and 1 position each in the PGY2 Oncology, PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics, and PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency Programs. All residents have opportunities to develop and reinforce clinical, practice management, and precepting skills to advance as well rounded practitioners. Pharmacy Informatics Residency Description The Pharmacy Informatics Residency at NorthShore University HealthSystem will prepare resident for a leadership role in medical informatics. The program is structured to offer a broad exposure to technology and informatics within the health system with an emphasis in clinical informatics. Residents will gain experience in systems evaluations, process re-design, project management, interdisciplinary teamwork, vendor relations, system testing and validations, change management, research, teaching and leadership. Service Commitment Specific schedules will be discussed. While staffing, residents are expected to provide comprehensive clinical services working closely with attending physicians and medical residents to ensure appropriate drug therapy. A working knowledge of medication-related systems is a driver of success in informatics. |
