Coordinate the preparation and submission of grant and contract proposals for faculty members in Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences. Work with Department Lead Grant Coordinator , investigators, other University research administrators and grant accountants on development and implementation of proposal preparation timeliness and assignment of preparation tasks. Review proposal text and sections to ensure that they adhere to agency instructions and format, and insure that information is clear and complete. Edit and cross-reference proposal sections as necessary. Responsible for the project management of team based multi-institutional applications. Determine deadlines for drafts and final copies for submission to meet Sponsored Projects Administration and funder requirements. Assist the Director of Research Administration with daily program support.
Job Duties: Pre-Award Grant and Contract Preparation 90%
Research and assist PI’s/faculty and center Grant Coordinators in obtaining the required grant formatting and submission requirements for all types of grants, publications, and progress reports.
Create and gather information required for biosketches, references, facilities & other resources and other support documents, and ensuring they are current.
Research and organize documents required for Pre-Award grant preparation per grant requirements.
Manage and maintain records in REDCap Database
Manage all grant deadlines and ensure all grant applications are ready to be submitted by the grant deadline.
Work with center Grant Coordinators the accountants to ensure all required information is ready for pre-award grant submission.
Provide ongoing communication with Faculty PI’s during grant process to keep things on track.
Participate in QA/QI projects to improve grant submission process efficiency and quality.
May prepare progress reports for management and other forms of documentation that are required by funders.
Research Core Support 10%
Special Projects as Assigned by the Director of Research Administration in the organization and management of Research Core.
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
BA/BS degree or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four (4) years.
Excellent written communication and editing skills.
Strong organizational skills
Ability to multitask efficiently and manage multiple deadlines
Excellent time management, accuracy and attention to detail skills, ability to prioritize multiple projects.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a part of a team with colleagues from a variety of backgrounds.
Experience with grants or research support.
Experience working with diverse faculty on proposal submissions from a variety of funding sources (ex: NIH, NSF, DoD).
Familiarity with the University of Minnesota Reporting Center, NIH ASSIST, Grants.gov, eResearch support systems, and other financial and human resources University of Minnesota systems.
Experience working in an academic setting managing complex projects.
