Under supervision of our Supervisor of Research Facilities Operations, as a Per Diem Research Facilities Coordinator I, you will assist in the operation of on-site and/or off-site research facilities as assigned. In this role you will aid our research groups to address issues related to building maintenance, environment comfort, office/laboratory design, renovation and reassignments. You will coordinate lab move-ins and move-outs with assigned users and their staff, Cedars' Safety department, and contracted movers. You will:
Read and design floor plans to users request when preparing a lab renovation
Work with users, property managers, various contractors, project managers, and architects for area walkthroughs, detailing work scope.
Responsible for the transfer, move, disposal, and relocation of various equipment/furniture on campus.
Place equipment and materials orders as applicable
Monitor the temperature monitoring system and implements the Emergency freezer program as necessary.
May assist with A/V requirements in various conference rooms, provide support to the Security department with quarterly fire drills, and perform a full range of office clerical duties for the department, including typing, filing, opening and distributions of mail, photo-copying documents, etc.
Will participate in the off-hour (weekdays, weekends and holidays), on-call research coordinator emergency support coverage and perform other duties as assigned.
Important Note: This per diem role will be Monday through Friday and will be morning hours to start, however, the need will most likely shift to evenings sometime between 6am and 6pm. As our laboratories continue to ramp up operations, this position will likely also cover some weekend work, likely from 8am to 12noon to start. Your flexibility will be key to your success in this role.
