General Description/Primary Purpose Reporting to the Director of Athletics and works closely with the Associate AD for External Operations and Assistant AD for Athletic Communications for the day to day operations. This position is responsible for the successful execution in planning, developing and administering all aspects of the athletic department creative and digital media strategy including: the staffing and production of radio and web streamed broadcasts, the staffing and production of in-house videoboard displays, assist with digital social media strategy, and creative development of mobile and video content for all avenues of communications. This position will be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining dynamic content that strategically enhances the Lenoir-Rhyne Athletics brand in all external communications.
Description of Duties and Tasks 1.Lead execution of all digital content for LR Athletics by guiding his/her team to ideate, create, design, and execute content and strategy while assisting in the overall website and social media strategy. 2.Develop creative content that enhances revenue streams through fan engagement, brand awareness, advertising, and public relations strategies in collaboration with the marketing department. 3.Oversee a staff of student interns to develop the overall media strategy and create a foundation of success across all sports with an emphasis on enhancement of live broadcasts and production on the Bears Sports Network. 4.Manage creative development and deployment of digital, social, mobile and video content for communications and branding initiatives surrounding LR Athletic teams and events. This content will include but not be limited to hype videos, highlight videos, interviews, and specialty segments. 5.Supervise and run game day video production for radio, web stream, and in-house videoboards. 6.Responsible for working with Athletics Marketing, Communications and Game Operations staff to ensure a coordinated and strategic effort to increase the athletic department brand and fan engagement. 7.Develop partnerships across campus with the communications department, student groups, and faculty to increase campus engagement as well as student internship and staffing opportunities. 8.Will serve on the athletic department’s senior staff reporting directly to and working closely with the Director of Athletics. 9.Assist with sports communications coverage depending on department needs and experience. 10.Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree Required
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient knowledge of sound equipment
Proficient knowledge of web-streaming equipment
Proficient with TriCaster for video production at football
Excels in Video Editing Software such as Adobe Premier Pro CC
Experience working in a collegiate or professional sports digital media department preferred
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite graphics
Ability to work nights and weekends
