This position is responsible for leading the Information Technology department. The individual in this position will work closely with the Executive Team and Supervisors to develop technology plans for the Association. This position is responsible for overseeing the various functions of the IT department which include but are not limited to: Help desk support, information security, data center operations, networking, telecommunications, and project management.
Evaluates changing technology and make recommendations to improve organizational efficiency.
Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols and standards that could improve the Association IT functions.
Assists with the preparation of the annual budget and conduct monthly reviews.
Supervise and provide positive leadership for employees. Work with staff to establish and monitor goals and key performance indicators. Manages training and resources for employees.
Lead, coordinate, and participate in key process improvements, including integration of departmental systems. Responsible for providing custom interfaces, custom reports, or data conversions as needed.
Negotiate and maintain contracts and agreements for IT hardware, software, and service vendors.
Recommend information security policies, procedures, and standards. Create a culture of cyber security awareness within the organization and provide training to employees.
Establish help desk standards and ensure timely and accurate response to employee requests for support.
Define, maintain, and implement processes that enable consistent, effective, information security practices which minimize risk and ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems and information.
Develop incident response procedures and manage security incidents involving Associations systems or data.
Conduct annual penetration testing to find holes in security and remediate any issues if discovered.
Ensure that disaster recovery (DR) solutions are adequate, in place, maintained, and tested as part of the regular operational life cycle.
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a related field; or ten years related experience or training; or equivalent education and experience. Must have a minimum of 6 years' experience with networking architecture, server hardware and operating systems including, but not limited to; domain controllers, servers, security applications, virtual environments, and VMware administration.
Four years of progressively responsible experience in IT systems management and project management.
Three or more years of previous supervisory and management experience.
Extensive knowledge of communication and conflict resolution skills with the ability to maintain effective working relationships.
Use creative thinking and problem solving techniques to come up with innovative solutions.
Communicate and interact effectively with members and co-workers in a courteous, professional manner.
Excellent presentation skills.
Self-motivated, well organized, personable, and able to exercise discretion, and use sound judgement in dealing with people and confidential information.
