The Rockefeller University seeks a Director of Occupational Health Services to join Occupational Health Services. The Director will serve in a hybrid clinical and administrative role overseeing the activities of a dynamic Occupational Health Services Office that provides confidential care to Rockefeller University employees. Clinical responsibilities include demonstrating clinical expertise in conducting episodic health assessments of patients with real or potential, acute, and/or chronic health problems inclusive of diagnostic testing and treatment (including prescription), providing referrals to specialty services, as indicated, while promoting continuity of care and health promotion, and administering approved medications and immunizations according to United States Public Health Service standards and Rockefeller University written orders. Will be responsible for surveillance and health promotion of campus employees, management of workers' compensation and disability cases, maintaining current knowledge about OSHA and Worker's Compensation procedures, and communicating with Laboratory Safety and Benefits about injuries and accident prevention. Will oversee the evaluation, documentation, and reporting of work-related injuries, work-related clearances, and other medical surveillance programs for campus employees in accordance with regulatory agencies and the New York State Department of Health requirements, and maintain accurate, complete, and confidential health records for employees. Administrative responsibilities include overseeing the development, coordination, implementation, and promotion of high-quality occupational health and wellness programs. Will supervise a team including a Nurse Practitioner, Occupational Health Nurses/RNs, and an Administrative Assistant, assess clinical skills of OHS staff through direct observation and review of documentation, provide annual performance reviews for OHS staff, prepare an annual report on OHS activities and programs for Human Resources, monitor and implement policies and procedures for Occupational Health Services in accordance with NY State Department of Health and OSHA, and facilitate positive interpersonal relationships with members of the Rockefeller Community including serving as a role model for assertive communication. Will assess and manage the Occupational Health Services budget and order equipment and supplies within the established budget including the ability to negotiate effectively. Master's degree in a Nurse Practitioner program required. Specialty certification desirable (board certification, ex: ANCC). Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in the State of New York required; certification in Occupational Health Nursing preferred. Previous relevant experience, including management of an Occupational Health Office, Clinic, or similar necessary. Must have very strong interpersonal skills and be highly effective in establishing relationships with key constituents, both within and outside the institution, professionally representing the institution. Excellent discretion, judgment, tact, initiative, organizational skills, and self-motivation required. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are essential. Ability to anticipate and assess situations accurately and recommend/implement effective courses of action required. Expertise in EMR documentation, Microsoft Office Suite applications, and other electronic applications for organizational and project management required.
