In this role, you will have the opportunity to oversee all aspects of pharmacy computer and automation systems, including, but not limited to: functional specifications, planning, budgeting, development, design, analysis of software, installation of new and upgraded applications and staff training and development for our western Colorado region.

As a Regional Informatics Pharmacist, you need to know how to:
Be responsible for systems and processes including, but not limited to: computer provider order entry, drug admin pumps, automated dispensing system and compliance with regulatory standards.
Coordinate the integration of the pharmacy computer systems with other clinical areas. Train and support departmental super-users and end-users.
Supervise maintenance of the coding and billing information for patient pharmacy charges.
Identify and coordinate implementation strategies of changes to current software packages. Develop project plan and implementation strategies for new software modules. Direct the process of determining priorities with appropriate users and pharmacy staff.
Oversee Pharmacy IS vendor relations, monitoring and following up with vendors on outstanding calls.
Develop, review and revise policies and procedures for new and existing functionality/operations within pharmacy systems for both interdepartmental and intradepartmental functions, assuring compliance with regulatory agencies.
Be responsible for ensuring system designs appropriately address patient safety regulations and compliance issues.
Collaborate with regional and system counterparts to advance the effectiveness and integrity of pharmacy information systems.

Bachelorâ™s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited College of Pharmacy
Current Pharmacist license in the state of practice, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with pharmacy computer systems
Demonstrated background in facilitating adult training sessions
Skilled in the analytical use of database systems or programming tools
Advanced training and certification in informatics or similar areas/experience
Bachelorâ™s Degree or Masterâ™s Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related field
Current Pharmacy Informatics certificate
Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association
At least five (5) years of experience in hospital pharmacy
Completion of a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency
Completion of a PGY-2 Residency in Pharmacy Informatics
