Our search is for a Consultant level role for Nationwide’s Business Transformation Office. The role will focus on leveraging automation and digitization capabilities to deliver increased operational efficiency and an improved customer experience. The role has enterprise level scope and will partner closely with business and IT functions to identify and activate opportunities while informing strategy. The role will also work closely with existing operational excellence, data and analytics functions to deliver collaborative solutions.

This role sits within a 40+ person Operational Excellence team that is responsible for supporting and enabling business improvement across the enterprise. The team serves as internal consultants who help to inform, plan and support delivery of end-to-end solutions across business units.
5+ years in professional experience with related fields demonstrating increasing level of responsibility
Experience at top tier management consulting firm, internal consulting, corporate development office or related function is a plus
Experience leading projects to achieve business transformation or large-scale change
Understanding and demonstrated application of continuous improvement tools and frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma, Value Stream Analysis…)

Top notch story boarding and presentation development

Comfortable leveraging data in problem solving including: identifying data needs and sources, determining and conducting the appropriate analyses, presenting data in convincing and clear formats
Experience managing, mentoring and leading others, either in a project capacity or formal HR reporting structure
Excellent written communication skills
Ability to self-study to become knowledgeable of new products and areas of business
Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) – in business/finance, STEM or related field
Financial Services and/or Insurance Industry experience and certifications (CPCU, CLU, FLMI, ChFC...) is a plus
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manges special projects focused on improving operational productivity and effectiveness while improving the customer experience
Supports efforts to identify and activate Automation opportunities across Nationwide, leveraging an enterprise-wide, cross-functional perspective
Consults with executives, business partners, and subject matter experts to assess current business performance, issues and opportunities for improvement. Identifies cause/effect and recommend methods for improved processes and systems
Prepares written reports of findings for discussion and /or presentation to business partner and department leadership. Interprets findings, provides options for consideration and recommendations for resolution of original issue/request
Creates detailed project plan outlining all phases of the project, roles and responsibilities of all stake holders including third party resources. Establishes timeline for completion, key checkpoints and all deliverables including communication plans
Contributes large and complex process improvement/redesign projects across all functions and business units.
Supports analysis, research and preparation of project deliverables
Evaluates and provides recommendations on possible process, tool, and control enhancements to increase the quality and optimization of business services and resources
Normal office environment; extended and/or non-standard work hours based on project and service delivery needs. Travel as needed. Travel is expected to be limited to less than 20%, may vary based on project needs.
