The Studio Art Technician supports the teaching and learning spaces for Carleton College’s studio art program including: sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, photography, woodworking, metalsmithing, drawing, and painting. A high degree of independent judgment and creativity are required, as this person will work both independently and in collaboration with faculty, staff, administration, students, and community partners. This position prioritizes assistance with 3D art practices (primarily analog) as we anticipate the hiring of a second technician with expertise in digital applications within the coming year.
This is a regular full-time 10-month (September – June), fully benefit eligible position. Typical office hours are Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The successful candidate possesses a combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of a Bachelor of Arts degree in studio art, fine art, or a related field; 7 years of work experience, at least 2 of those in higher education; a practicing artist is preferred.
