Under the direction of the Technical Leadership team, the Automation/Controls Engineer II will lead the ideation, development, implementation, and support of automation/controls aspects of efficiency, reliability, and capacity expansion projects site wide.
Including but is not limited to Building Automation, On-Site Wind Turbine Generators, Batch Process Control, Safety Systems, and a diverse set of Manufacturing Equipment.
Serve as a key contributor to the strategic planning, evaluation, organization, and implementation of automation related projects and initiatives.
Develop new process control/automation systems, and revise/maintain existing systems; managing and guiding contractors, consultants, and suppliers Identify new opportunities and solutions that bring return on investment to the firm.
The Automation/Controls Engineer II will be required to perform and present business justifications to solicit funding and resource.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or Automation Engineering is required.
Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in manufacturing environment conducting support and installation.
Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of work experience and technical training required.
Installed Systems with Preferred Experience to include: 1. SCADA, Rockwell RS Logix, AMSC 2. Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Other Legacy PLCs 3. Servo Drives and Motors 4. SQL Databases 5. Ethernet and Fiber Optic Communication Systems 6. Solenoid and Pneumatic Controls 7. Instrumentation and Process Monitoring: Mass Flow Meters, RTD/Thermocouples, Counters, Pressure Sensors, Load Cells 8. Plant Power Distribution including NFPA 70E requirements 9. AutoCAD
