Market Job Description
The Vice President of Technology Risk Oversight is an experienced independent Risk Management Leader in the 2nd Line of Defence. Effectively oversee specialist risk types such as technology (tech) and information security (IS), Records Management, Third Party Risk Management, Business Continuity and Business Resilience, and other risk types. Experience with formalized governance, oversight and credible challenge with the ability to effectively write and guide others to write Point of View papers and other documents that challenge the front line and drive actions that result in risk reduction activities on behalf of the AMERICAS Region. Experience in working in large complex multi-national organizations successfully delivering 2nd line risk management programs in a highly matrixed and complex environment. Experience with regulatory requirements and interfacing with international and US regulators such as OSFI, IIROC, OCC, CIMA etc. under the guidance of an agreed engagement model. Be the key international interface with groups that perform oversight of over the risk types that fall within their accountability, influencing them to provide a global perspective to risk management. Execution and delivery of the independent risk functions defined in the risk management framework on behalf of the region and the legal entities for the risk types that fall under their accountability. Executing the agreed engagement model between Risk Type Teams and the Regional Heads of Operational Risk. Establish credibility and become a trusted 2nd line leader that has earned the trust and respect of stakeholders.
Oversee specialist risk types such as (not all inclusive) Technology and Information Security, Records Management, Third Party Risk Management, Business Continuity and Business Resilience Experience with formalized governance, oversight and credible challenge with the ability to effectively write and guide others to write Point of View papers and other documents that challenge the front line and drive actions that result in risk reduction activities on behalf of the Americas Region. Experience in delivering SLOD risk management programs in a highly matrixed and complex environment preferably a multi-national with a US parent company. Experience with regulatory requirements and interfacing with international and US regulators such as Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC), Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) etc. Be the key international interface into the Technology, Third Party and Information Risk Management Oversight (TTIRO) groups that perform oversight over the risk types that fall within their accountability, influencing them to provide a global perspective to risk management. Market Skills and Certifications
9+ years of experience in risk management (include compliance, operational risk, audit, legal, technology risk, information security, business process management) or 9+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management related to these technical risk areas, experience in developing team members 2+ years of leadership experience Direct experience in interaction with Americas' regulators such as OSFI, IIROC, OCC, CIMA etc. Regulatory knowledge in Canada and Latin America regions A second line of defense role providing oversight and credible challenge to the frontline on the topics of third party risk management (internal and external third party service providers) Direct experience in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g OSFI Guideline B10, Cayman Governance Guideline, etc.) Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills at an executive level Ability to interact and influence in a matrixed environment Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Ability to develop written program materials, including executive level reporting Certifications such as: Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Projects in Controlled Environments (PRINCE), Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified in Governance of Enterprise IT(CGEIT), Business Continuity Certified Expert (BCCE), Disaster Recovery Certified Expert (DRCE), Certified Third Party Risk Professional (CTPRP) Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work in ambiguous circumstances with a penchant for building structure and scalable processes Ability to interact with all levels of an organization, work collaboratively and influence in a matrixed environment Experiences working in a large multi-national with a US parent and licensed legal entities internationally Experience with the oversight in a formally regulated financial services environment Understanding of formal governance structures – committee structures – committee participation – formal escalation
