The Principal Software Architect shall be responsible for:
Providing technical direction and goal setting for the ongoing maintenance and upgrade of the enterprise application.
Representing SAT at project coordination meetings to identify tasks and resources within SAT to support implementation, maintenance and upgrade effort of technical projects.
Assisting management in forecasting the project budget, as well as preparing project schedules, presentations, recommendations, RFPs, technical summaries, status reports, and other project management reports in a timely manner.
Ensuring delivery of application implementation, maintenance and upgrade services required by projects. Providing impetus to schedule and execute these duties and follows them through to completion.
Working cross functionally with SAT and BCH staff to insure the reliability of the enterprise application. Monitors the ongoing operations of the application and works to evaluate, isolate and eliminate persistent issues that affect the application SLA. Coordinating responsible SAT and Functional team members in this continuous improvement effort.
Leading upgrade and maintenance efforts that use resources from various IT and functional areas. Creates project plans for small maintenance efforts and provides input and subject matter expertise to large-scale projects
Working with Team Leads to manage the work of technical personnel as it relates to the operations, maintenance and development of the enterprise application. Monitors the tasks performed and provide guidance, mentoring and management input on the execution of these tasks as they relate to the support of the application.
Maintaining current knowledge of the application, supporting systems and hardware environment as well as future technology trends in order to assist management with IT strategy and planning. Disseminating this knowledge to management and staff to guide in application support and best practices
Maintaining relationships with senior leadership of the user community to understand business requirements and goals and assists in identifying and prioritizing system maintenance efforts to support business objectives
In order to qualify you must have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and 6 years' experience.
Analytical skills to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.
Epic Certifications a plus.
Excellent communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues, and mediate fair solutions.
In-depth experience in all technical areas of the system including: architecture, database/server administration, application development and upgrades, as well as strong project management skills, and the ability to manage the expectations of senior management.
